If you would like to get the perfect six pack or just would like to tone up your abs I personally recommend the old fashioned way which is some good old sit ups and crunches, all you need is yourself, a flat space and possibly a towel. But if you would like something a little more interesting and modern you may want to purchase some new ab exercise equipment.A balance ball is a very good and inexpensive piece of exercising equipment, it works the abs especially but is also used to exercise other parts of the body. You can get a starter video to get started and go on from there. Basically the balance ball is exactly what it sounds like, a ball which you balance on. It is very easy to use and perfect for a beginner to exercise. In order to stay on the ball you must keep your abdominal muscles contracted, in keeping your abdominal muscles contracted you build muscle strength and definition.A rowing machine is perfect for a person who is looking for a more advanced exercise. The rowing machine comes in many different price ranges but they all do basically the same thing and are perfect for toning your abs and have the added benefits of working your biceps, triceps and forearms in the process as well as your calves as you need to push with your legs and pull with your arms while rowing. The newest piece of ab equipment on the market is The Red, the red is basically a swivel stool with two arm handles on the side. You hold onto the handles, holding your upper body stationary and swivel your lower body from side to side with your abdominal muscles. You do this exercise from thirty minutes to an hour three times a week and it’s supposed to do wonders for your abs with the added benefit of working out your arms as they need to hold you stationary. Some of the other great ab machines on the market are the ab lounger, the bosu balance trainer, the ab roller, the terrastar torso trainer and the Yukon ab crunch machine. If you’re still not sure which piece of ab equipment to buy there are tons more options available as well as sites with more details on the ones mentioned here on the internet. Also, there’s always the good old sit ups and crunches to fall back on if you feel all this equipment is too complicated.
